Nosara Ocean Safety

The town of Nosara was deeply moved and shaken by the drownings on our beaches in recent years. These tragic events pushed a passionate group of Nosara community members, business owners and locals alike to come together to form Nosara Ocean Safety (NOS) and begin the journey of safer beaches for all.

A community empowered to keep our beaches safe and fun for locals and visitors through prevention and education.

Designing for safety

We chose the NOS colors very carefully, safety is no joke and we wanted the brand to be as clear and concise as possible.

Safety Red is used in contexts where we need to attract the attention of beachgoers, whether that is an emergency sign, a Surfguard (surfers and swimmers who have undergone the NOS Ocean Safety Programs), the beach safety flags, or one of the ocean rescue tools.

Ocean Blue is used in educational contexts, and in any brand materials that do not require emergency action

We believe that with proper education and awareness of the environment, most accidents at the beach are preventable. We are committed to making sure that you and your loved ones can safely enjoy all the benefits of our beautiful coastline, and hopefully, come away with a greater appreciation for the powerful and diverse conditions of the ocean.

The NOSara Pass Coupon Book

The Nosara pass is a curated experience and entertainment coupon book that showcases some of Nosara’s amazing businesses. Offering discounts and coupons from over 50 local businesses, with a value of over $1.000!

I designed the NOSara Pass for NOS, as volunteer work to give back to the community I grew up in. It’s amazing to see so many new businesses opening up in town, this wonderful project will empower local businesses as well as collect funding for NOS.

It’s so inspiring to collaborate on local projects and iniciatives, especially when the mission is as important as this one! The NOS brand has managed to implement so many important safety features in Nosara such as beach safety flags, lifeguard support, surfguard trainings, community trainings, educational content, and so much more.

NOS is saving lives through education, prevention and response.
